Approved Sellers meet consumer protection standards for solar, battery storage, EV chargers and more
Sunterra is a proud New Energy Tech Approved Seller committed to meeting consumer protection standards throughout your customer journey with us.
These standards have been designed by peak consumer and industry bodies to help raise consumer protection across the solar, battery storage and new energy tech industry.
As Approved Sellers, Solar Set is committed to:
Providing you with clear, accurate and relevant information to help you make informed choices
Encouraging you to be aware of your rights under the law and the New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC)
Ensuring that our sales practices are responsible
Ensuring that products, systems, services and documentation provided under the NETCC are suitable and fit for purpose
Supporting staff training and work processes that ensure that we comply with the law and the NETCC
Ensuring that we will be responsive to your needs and taking prompt, appropriate action if you make a complaint.
The New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC) is a set of standards designed to protect consumers when purchasing new energy tech.
To become a New Energy Tech Approved Seller, a provider must demonstrate it meets the requirements of the NETCC and is committed to ongoing compliance with its standards.
To maintain the integrity of the program, Approved Sellers may be audited to ensure their practices adhere to the NETCC, and customer complaints of alleged non-compliance will be investigated.
The NETCC program replaces the Approved Solar Retailer (ASR) program in February 2023. The program will extend the existing consumer protection standards of the ASR program to also cover other new and emerging technologies.
The NETCC program is governed by a NETCC Council of peak industry and consumer bodies, and will be administered by the Clean Energy Council.
