SA power outage after storm damage

Sunterra Breaking News

We may switch off your solar system temporarily to support the grid in the next few days!

Dear customers,

As many of us are already aware, the storm damaged parts of our transmission lines and disconnected South Australia from National Energy Market (NEM). In other words, our state is currently living on an “island” in terms of energy usage. It seems that the situation will continue at least until Friday evening 18 November.

To avoid overloading SA’s grid with excessive solar power generations, Sunterra received an emergency shutdown order from SAPN yesterday and therefore we had to switch off some working inverters according to SAPN’s instructions around 10am yesterday 13 November. Later on, upon further instructions from SAPN, we switched these inverters back on around 6pm last night 13 November.

For the next few days we may get further instructions and may need to switch off some of your inverters again and restore them as soon as we get notified.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. Together we are supporting our grid and facilitating the repair work that aims to connect South Australia back to NEM again.

Best Regards
